Redtory Museum of Contemporary Art (RMCA)

Redtory Museum of Contemporary Art (hereinafter referred to as 'RMCA' ) is located in Guangzhou Redtory Art District, which inherits the architectural pattern in the industrial age of last century. The surface of the museum is surrounding by rough steel, which revealed its monumental historical significance.


The exhibition space in RMCA covers an area of over 4,000m, consisting of Hall 1, Hall 2, Hall 3, and E7 & E9 halls. The height of Hall 1 and Hall 2 space are more seven meters high.

RMCA is nonprofit private Contemporary Art Museum with the complex function of exhibition, academic research, art exchanges internal and external, public education, etc.




Exhibitions
By hosting academic research exhibitions, artworks exhibitions displaying the trend of modern and contemporary art and design exhibitions with international view, RMCA blends the ideas in contemporary art and modern design, listens to the voice during the development process of modern art, carries out the trans-regional fields with visual appearance of modern art and assumes the social responsibilities for extending the art to design and life.


Public Projects
Through holding the public projects inclusive of academic exchange seminar, lecture, art cinema, live show, workshop, etc., RMCA provides a dynamic and open share platform for do artists, celebrities and scholars, promoting the communication between domestic and abroad art, promoting the occurrence of artistic forms and ideas and incurring extensively social resonance and reflection.

Exchange Programmes
RMCA attracts the domestic and abroad artists, critics, curators and scholars with the unique art exhibitions, cultural activities and academic lectures. The incoming persons at all works of life present modern artistic thought and diversified art.

E Zone Galleries

Galleries in Area E cover a total area of about 2439 square meter. These galleries are composed of Soviet style architectural complex built in the 1950s, including heat preservation warehouse, semi-product warehouse, finished product warehouse, packing workshop and packing and cutting room. Characterized by axial symmetry, high-rise main building with slowly stretched corridor and the red-brick “three-section” structure of eave, wall and plinth, this area is the symbolic architectural complex in Redtory. The buildings, in accordance with their sizes, are transformed into halls for exhibition, creativity and leisure such as galleries; artist’s studios and cafes. Various art, design, academic communications as well as charitable activities constantly take place here.
