Finnish Architecture Exhibition at Redtory

Finnish Architecture Exhibition at Redtory will be opened at Iron Curtain Gallery, on January 26th, and will end on March 17th. During the Exhibition, some associated salons and seminars will be arranged. The exhibition is free to the public, and hopes to bring some fresh idea of architecture to the professionals and the public, in the period of 2013 Spring Festival.

 

Northern Europe Architecture Design and Urban Planning & Design gradually become the focus of the modern architecture in the world. This is the 5th Finnish Architecture Biennial Exhibition, which is organized by three most authoritative architectural institutes: Alvar Aalto Academy,       Finnish Association of Architects SAFA and Museum of Finnish Architecture. Every two years, these three institutes select 15 top works as the exhibited works from a lot of architectural works and urban planning designs. The selection group consists of Finnish Professionals and International Professionals, which are justice and fair. They will select the best urban planning design, public building, educational building, presidential building, traffic building and medical building, etc. The final exhibited works can stand for the top-level of Finnish architectural designs and ideas.

 

The exhibition provides a platform to introduce the 15 works and the architects of these works through pictures, models, sketches, Atlas, iPad, projection, websites and interviews. Exhibition catalogue “Finnish Architecture Exhibition 2010/2011” is also a very important part, which published 4 papers of high quality of the article, analyzes why Finnish building can be unique in the world, both with spiritual quality and with intrinsic pursuit.

 

1New Model

The Finnish Architecture Biennial Exhibition is different from the previous. This time, the exhibition pays more attention to the sense of participation for the public, not only in the design but also in the catalog, which adds some interaction with website and smart mobile device, so that the discussion can become easier. Besides website, you can also choose other ways, like Facebook and APP to join the discussion.

 

2Programs

There are 15 programs exhibited this time, including: new architecture, renovation program and regional planning project, which are latest model of Finnish architectural design. These exhibited works are picked from 125 design items by experts.

 

3Comments

The exhibition encourages the public to join and to comment. The organizers expect that the discussion will be active and lasting for two years until the next biennial exhibition comes. The public can voice their opinions in the exhibition or in the website.

 

4 Views

The exhibition provides both a platform and an opportunity to enjoy new architecture in different sides so that the views from clients, architects, contractors and users of these architecture works can be presented comprehensively.
